Views from Around the Village

Dirleton is one of the prettiest of East Lothian’s conservation villages, set along the south side of the Forth on the coastal road between Gullane and North Berwick. It is characterised by a large village green surrounded by a maze of pantiled houses, historic Dirleton Castle and Dirleton Kirk, two inns and nearby the popular and spectacular Yellowcraig Beach.

This site is hosted by the Dirleton Village Association, a registered charity, one of whose primary objects is to stimulate public interest in and care for the beauty, history and character of the village.

For Residents we aim to provide an easy-to-use notice board with information on news, events and activities taking place in our village, local facilities and how to access them, and links to village institutions such as the Primary School and Kirk and to local organisations in the wider East Lothian community.

For Visitors there is information on the attractions and facilities in and around Dirleton, as well as its history and countryside, where you can eat and stay, and simply enjoy and help preserve our beautiful village.
